New Delhi, Aug. 20 -- Monty Desai has stepped down as head coach of the Canada men's cricket team after just three months in the role, with Cricket Canada inviting applications for his replacement.
Desai took charge in May and oversaw Canada in two Cricket World Cup League 2 tri-series, one on home soil and another in Scotland. His departure came last weekend, with Cricket Canada setting August 28 as the deadline for applications for the vacant position.
Canada's next League 2 assignment is scheduled for October 9, when they will take on Oman and Nepal in a tri-series in Oman.
Reflecting on his brief stint with the team, Desai described it as a short but meaningful experience.
