Panchkula, Sept. 25 -- The southwest monsoon withdrawal line has reached Chandigarh, but a fresh western disturbance is expected to bring another spell of rain and thunderstorms to parts of northwest India over the next few days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Friday.
The withdrawal line currently passes through Gurdaspur, Chandigarh, Muzaffarnagar, Aligarh, Dholpur, Udaipur, Deesa and Naliya, the IMD said in its morning weather bulletin issued at 9:05 a.m.
A fresh western disturbance is present as a trough in the middle tropospheric westerlies, while another western disturbance has merged with the system, the weather office said.
