Lucknow, July 7 -- The monsoon has picked up pace once again in Uttar Pradesh.

Good rainfall was recorded in the southern and eastern districts of the state on Monday, bringing relief to residents from the heat and humidity.

The Meteorological Department states that the scope of rainfall will expand over the coming days, with a likelihood of heavy rain in several parts of the state.

Atul Kumar Singh, a senior scientist at the Regional Meteorological Centre in Lucknow, explained that a low-pressure area formed over the northwest Bay of Bengal has intensified into a depression.
