Panchkula, July 31 -- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts continued monsoon activity across northwest India, with steady rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds expected in Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Punjab until August 4.

According to the IMD's All India Weather Summary and Forecast Bulletin issued Friday morning, a depression over east Vidarbha and west-central Chhattisgarh has moved west and is now centred over central Vidarbha and south Madhya Pradesh as of 5:30 a.m.

The system is expected to continue moving west-northwest across Vidarbha and south Madhya Pradesh over the next 24 hours, maintaining active monsoon conditions in much of the country.
