Belagavi (Karnataka), June 9 -- : Relentless monsoon rains wreaked havoc across Karnataka's Belagavi district on Tuesday, inundating residential colonies, commercial establishments and key road networks, while forcing residents into a desperate struggle to save their homes, vehicles and valuables from rising floodwaters.
Days of incessant rainfall have triggered a flood-like situation in several parts of Belagavi city and adjoining rural areas, with low-lying localities bearing the brunt of the deluge. Water entered hundreds of houses and shops, damaging furniture, household articles, stock and other belongings, with residents fearing losses worth several lakhs of rupees.
