Aizawl, Sept. 4 -- Mizoram's main road lifeline to Assam is once again bearing the scars ofthe monsoon, with badly deteriorated stretches of National Highways 306 and 6 making travel hazardous and disrupting the movement of passengers, goods and commercial vehicles in Kolasib district.

The worsening condition of the Aizawl-Silchar corridor has raised fresh concerns over the recurring deterioration of Mizoram's most important road connection during the rainy season.

Residents and transport operators said several stretches have become difficult to negotiate,with the situation closely mirroring the road damage witnessed during last year's monsoon.
