Aizawl, May 25 -- A team of astronomers from Mizoram University and the Physical Research Laboratory has discovered a rare high-mass brown dwarf orbiting a Sun-like star, marking a significant breakthrough in the study of celestial objects that lie between planets and stars.

The newly identified object, named TOI-7154b, was detected using advanced spectroscopic observations carried out with the PARAS-2 spectrograph installed at PRL's Mount Abu Observatory in Rajasthan. The discovery has been published in the latest edition of The Astronomical Journal.
