Aizawl, July 28 -- Mizoram will formally have its own State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) on Wednesday, nearly two years after the state government initiated the process to establish the statutory body.

Governor Gen. Vijay Kumar Singh will administer the oath of office to the Commission's chairperson, Marli Vankung, and members Vanlalenmawia and K. Lalnghinglova at LokBhavan here.

Marli Vankung is a retired judge of the Gauhati High Court. Vanlalenmawia is a retired Mizoram Judicial Service officer, while Lalnghinglova is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer. Their appointments were notified by the state government on July 8.
