Aizawl, Sept. 16 -- Police in Mizoram's Saitual district have seized narcotic drugs estimated at Rs 228.19 crore in the international market since January, with more than 250 kg of methamphetamine accounting for nearly two-thirds of the total value, officials said on Wednesday.
The seizures include 252.565 kg of methamphetamine valued at around Rs 149.63 crore and 14.663 kg of heroin estimated at more than Rs 45 crore.
Heroin was seized in 23 cases, while methamphetamine was intercepted in 12 cases during the period.
Police also seized opium fluid in 15 cases, valued at about Rs 6 crore, and morphine in five cases worth around Rs 25 lakh. Several consignments of cannabis and marijuana were also seized.
