Aizawl, July 30 -- Lok Sabha MP Richard Vanlalhmangaiha met two union ministers in New Delhi on Thursday, seeking Central assistance for a cultural infrastructure project in Mizoram and the early release of pending land compensation.
During his meeting with union Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, the MP requested the Centre to facilitate the establishment of a Tagore Cultural Complex in Mizoram.
Responding to the request, Shekhawat said the ministry is currently reviewing the guidelines governing the scheme.
He assured the MP that once the revised guidelines receive Cabinet approval, efforts would be made to ensure that Mizoram is included among the beneficiaries of the Tagore Cultural Complex programme.
