Aizawl, May 23 -- Authorities in Mizoram's border district of Siaha have stepped up preventive measures against the possible spread of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) following reports of an outbreak in neighbouring Myanmar.
District Magistrate V.L. Hruaizela Khiangte has issued an order directing veterinary officials, border authorities and local leaders to remain on high alert to prevent the transboundary spread of the highly contagious livestock disease into the district.
