Aizawl, Sept. 14 -- Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma and Governor Gen (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh on Monday stressed the importance of learning Hindi while preserving the state's language, culture and identity as Hindi Diwas was observed across the state.
Addressing separate Hindi Diwas programmes in Aizawl, Lalduhoma said proficiency in Hindi was becoming increasingly important with the growing use and promotion of the language by the union government, particularly for communication and employment.
"We should learn Hindi while preserving our own culture. We should speak Hindi and enjoy Hindi songs, but without losing our identity," he said at a programme organised by the Mizoram Hindi Prachar Sabha at Dawrpui Multipurpose Hall.
