Aizawl, April 28 -- Mizoram Police have arrested an 18-year-old youth for allegedly creating and circulating a fake Office Memorandum on social media that falsely declared a public holiday due to heavy rainfall, triggering confusion among the public.
According to police, the matter came to light on April 27 after the Under Secretary of the General Administration Department (GAD), Government of Mizoram, lodged a complaint with the Cyber Crime Police Station in Aizawl. The complaint stated that a forged Office Memorandum was being widely shared online, falsely declaring April 27 as a public holiday on account of inclement weather.
