Aizawl, Feb. 25 -- The district administration of Lawngtlai in south Mizoram today lifted the temporary ban on cross-border movement of people and vehicles along the Mizoram-Myanmar international boundary in the Lawngtlai sector.
The order withdrawing the restrictions was issued by Lawngtlai Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Donny Lalruatsanga, bringing to an end the sealing of the border that had been enforced since February 16 in the wake of a series of disturbing incidents linked to cross-border trade.
The earlier prohibitory order had barred the entry of foreigners without valid travel documents and official permission. It also prohibited residents of Lawngtlai district from crossing into Myanmar, engaging in business activi...
