Kolkata, May 4 -- A range of public opinions from different parts of Kolkata and its adjoining constituencies reflects a noticeably mixed political mood, with residents expressing contrasting expectations about the possible electoral outcome.
With counting underway across all 294 Assembly constituencies, the BJP had established a commanding lead by early afternoon, moving well past the majority mark of 148 seats required to form the government. According to trends from the morning until around 2:30 pm, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was leading in more than 191 seats, while the TMC was ahead in fewer than 96 constituencies.
