Shillong, April 6 -- A decomposed body of a woman, stuffed in a sack and dumped in a drain, was recovered here in Meghalaya on Monday, with police suspecting a case of homicide.

The body was retrieved from a drain between Nongrah Lummarboh and Lapalang in Shillong, after local residents noticed a plastic sack -commonly used for courier services- lying in the drain and alerted the police.

A forensic team of the Meghalaya police has examined the scene and collected documentary evidence using scientific methods.
