Imphal, June 8 -- A 57-year-old man who had gone missing following a recent armed attack on Pongringlong village in Manipur's Kangpokpi district was found dead with bullet wounds on Monday triggering condemnation from local organisations and renewed concerns over security in the area.
According to a statement issued by the Pongringlong Youth Club (PYC), the deceased was identified as Chunjanglung Panmei, a village guard from Pongringlong Part-I, a Rongmei Naga village.
He had reportedly gone missing during an attack and firing incident that took place in the village in recent days.
