Shillong, Oct. 22 -- Security has been tightened in Meghalaya's capital after a petrol bomb was thrown at the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office early today.

Police said the attack was allegedly carried out by two masked men on a two-wheeler in Shillong's Langkyrding area.

This attack comes after a series of similar petrol bomb and arson incidents targeted Shillong's government offices and public infrastructure in recent weeks.

Superintendent of Police, East Khasi Hills district, Vivek Syiem said no one was injured, nor did the building suffer any structural damage.

"We are analysing the CCTV footage to identify the attackers. We have registered a case and have increased patrols in the locality," he said.
