Srinagar, June 12 -- Kashmir's chief cleric and Hurriyat chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Friday called for collective introspection and greater social responsibility.

Addressing a congregation at Jamia Masjid Ichgam in central Kashmir's Budgam district on the last Friday of the Islamic year, Mirwaiz said the occasion called for deep reflection, introspection and self-accountability, both at the individual and collective level.

"As another Islamic year draws to a close, it is important for people to pause and reflect on the passage of time, the blessings and challenges experienced during the year, and their responsibilities towards Allah and society," he said.
