Amravati, April 15 -- Maharashtra State Minority Commission Chairman Pyare Khan has taken cognisance of a sexual harassment case reported from Paratwada in Amravati district.
Police have constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the case, officials said on Wednesday.
The main accused, Ayan Ahmed Tanveer (19), has been arrested in connection with the case. His alleged accomplices, Ujer Khan, Tarbez Khan and Mohammad Saad, have also been taken into custody.
During the investigation, it has come to light that the accused allegedly circulated 18 videos and 39 photographs involving eight minor girls and women on social media.
According to police sources, some of the victims are believed to be from the Muslim community.
