Panchkulka, Sept. 21 -- The Ministry of Railways has approved 1,023 supernumerary posts, including 38 gazetted and 985 non-gazetted positions, to provide notional promotion reservation benefits to eligible employees with benchmark disabilities (PwBDs), according to a Railway Board order.
This one-time measure applies to eligible PwBD employees from June 30, 2016, to May 16, 2022.
The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) advised ministries to assess the need for such posts to grant these benefits for the specified period.
After receiving proposals from Zonal Railways and Production Units, the Ministry of Railways obtained approval from the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance.
