Hyderabad, May 14 -- Pratibha Puraskarams (Excellence Awards) were presented to meritorious students from BC Gurukulas and welfare hostels under the aegis of the BC Welfare Department at Komaram Bheem Bhavan in Banjara Hills on Thursday.
Telangana BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar and Sports Minister Vakiti Srihari attended the programme as chief guests.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Vakiti Srihari stressed the importance of education and said students should understand the meaning of the adage "Vidya dadati vinayam, vinayadyati patratam," which signifies that education imparts humility and leads individuals towards greatness.
