Mumbai, Sept. 16 -- Maharashtra Minister Girish Mahajan on Wednesday said the state government has already accepted 12 of the 13 demands raised by Maratha reservation activist Manoj Jarange Patil and urged him to end his agitation, saying the remaining demand could not be accepted within the existing legal and constitutional framework.
Speaking to reporters, Mahajan said the government has accepted almost all the demands concerning Maratha reservation, but could not agree to the demand to scrap the caste verification process.
"Jarange Patil is now demanding that the caste verification process be cancelled. This may not be possible. The government has to take decisions within the framework of the Constitution and must consider the interest...
