Guiyang, June 18 -- India's Minakshi Hooda advanced to the quarter-finals of the World Boxing Cup 2026 here in the People's Republic of China on Thursday.

Competing in the women's 51kg boxing category, Minakshi registered a 5-0 victory over Poland's Natalia Kuczewska in her round of 16 bout.

Minakshi, who is the reigning world champion and No. 1 ranked boxer in the 48kg division, has moved up to the 51kg weight class - an Olympic category - this season.

Elsewhere, Indian boxer Abhinash Jamwal bowed out after a 5-0 defeat against Kyrgyzstan's Mirzokhid Imamnazarov in the men's 65kg pre-quarterfinals, according to olympics.com.
