Washington, July 3 -- Millions of people across the US East Coast are enduring a severe heatwave as the Independence Day holiday weekend begins, with temperatures reaching levels not seen in some areas for over a decade.
The extreme heat is expected to continue through Friday and into the weekend, affecting around 25 million people across central and eastern parts of the country.
