Mumbai, Aug. 11 -- Morning cups of tea and household grocery bills are set to pinch a little harder starting on Tuesday, as milk prices across Maharashtra have officially increased by Rs 2 per litre.
The revision, finalised by the Milk Producers and Processors Welfare Association, brings immediate relief to dairy farmers grappling with high operational costs, but places an additional strain on consumers just ahead of the festive season.
Under the revised pricing structure, which came into effect on August 11, 2026, cow milk rose from Rs 60 to Rs 62 per litre and buffalo milk climbed from Rs 76 to Rs 78 per litre.
