Milk abhishek by chanting of mantras and blowing of conch shells on Ganga Dussehra in Kashi

Varanasi, May 26 -- The holy festival of Ganga Dussehra is being celebrated with great pomp in the religious city of Kashi on the tenth day of the Shukla Paksha of the Jyeshtha month.

Large crowds of devotees have thronged the Dashashwamedh, Assi, Darbhanga, Ahilyabai, Bhadaini, Tulsi, Pandey, Rana Mahal, Shivala, and other ghats to take a dip in the Ganga.

On this auspicious occasion, 51 students from Shastrarth Mahavidyalaya, led by City South MLA Dr. Neelkanth Tiwari, performed the milk abhishek of Mother Ganga at Ahilyabai Ghat.
