Chennai, July 15 -- A mild earthquake measuring 3.0 on the Richter scale rocked Krishnagiri district of Tamil Nadu at a depth of 10 km on Wednesday night.

Official sources said, there were no casualties or damages.

According to Met office "an earthquake of Magnitude 3.0. occurred on 15 July 2026 at 19:52:08 IST. Epicentre: Krishnagiri district, Tamil Nadu. Depth: 10 km".

The epicentre is located in the Denkanikottai-Hosur region of Krishnagiri district, near the Tamil Nadu-Karnataka border.

An earthquake of magnitude 3.0 is classified as a minor earthquake.
