Pune, July 17 -- Maharashtra BJP Mazdoor Cell President Jyoti Sawardekar has called for a people-centric labour policy, saying India's development should not be measured only by economic growth but also by the dignity, welfare and well-being of migrant workers who form the backbone of the nation's progress.
In a statement, Sawardekar said that while India takes pride in its soaring skyscrapers, highways, metro networks and expanding industries, the contribution and sacrifices of migrant workers often remain overlooked.
