Mumbai, April 17 -- Mumbai Indians' struggles in IPL 2026 continued as they slumped to a fourth consecutive defeat, going down to Punjab Kings at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday, with both head coach Mahela Jayawardene and captain Hardik Pandya calling for a collective reset after another underwhelming performance.

Despite a brilliant unbeaten 112 from Quinton de Kock, who shared a 123-run stand with Naman Dhir (50), Mumbai could only post 195/6 after being reduced to 12/2 early on. The total proved insufficient as Punjab Kings chased it down with ease, riding on an unbeaten 80 from Prabhsimran Singh and a composed 66 from Shreyas Iyer to seal a seven-wicket win with 21 balls to spare.
