Agartala, May 16 -- The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has approved the raising of one more India Reserve Battalion for the state in Tripura State Rifles (TSR) to enhance the state's law and order management and security preparedness.
MHA informed Tripura Chief Secretary J K Sinha, indicating that it has been granted with the President of India's approval. In support of this decision, the central government will provide a one-time financial assistance of Rs 50 Cr for the new battalion, along with potential reimbursement of actual infrastructure expenditure up to Rs 30 Cr, excluding the cost of land.
