Hyderabad, May 28 -- Works under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) are progressing rapidly across Telangana, with daily labour attendance crossing 16 lakh due to continuous monitoring and special initiatives taken by the state government.

According to officials, labour attendance, which remained around seven lakh in the first week of May due to intense heat and technical issues, has now risen to nearly 16.24 lakh workers per day following regular review meetings conducted by Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Seethakka and senior officials.
