Shillong, Sept. 17 -- Meghalaya was rocked by twin petrol bomb attacks within a seven-hour span on Wednesday, as the Lumdiengjri Police Station and the office of the Directorate of Mineral Resources (DMR) came under attack.

This is the sixth petrol bomb attack in the state capital within a month, and the third such incident following the petrol bomb attack at the Laban Police Station on September 12.

A police official said the DMR office in Risa Colony came under attack around 3:30 PM, while the Lumdiengjri Police Station was hurled with a petrol bomb at around 9:35 PM.

This is the fourth police station within Shillong city limits to be attacked with a petrol bomb in a span of four weeks.

No one was injured in the attacks.
