Shillong, Aug. 14 -- The Meghalaya government has frozen and prohibited the sale, marketing, and storage of "Sting" energy drink, citing public health concerns, an official announced on FridayThe prohibition came after the A-chik State Peoples' Front (ASPF) demanded an immediate ban on the sale and distribution of the energy drink across the Garo Hills region, citing public health concerns after the reported death of a student."In his interim order, Commissioner of Food Safety Dr . Joram Beda directed all food business operators-including distributors, wholesalers, retailers, vendors, stockists , and online delivery platforms-to stop selling, displaying, stocking , or distributing 'Sting' in any form or batch with immediate effect.
