Shillong, Aug. 31 -- An FIR was lodged against an Enforcement Directorate (ED) official here in Meghalaya for allegedly assaulting a witness in a case during questioning in connection with a case related to Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC), an official said on Monday.
The complaint was filed with the Officer-in-Charge of the Nongmynsong Police Station by advocate Niksrang Ch. Marak on behalf of his client, Sansilstone Sangma, who was allegedly physically assaulted by Shekar Kumar, an Investigating Officer of the ED, when he appeared before the ED on August 27 following a summons for recording his statement.
The allegations in the complaint have not been independently established.
