Damas, May 19 -- Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma on Monday said the state government has committed over Rs. 400 crore across 53 sports infrastructure projects in the Garo Hills region, ensuring that no district, no block, no locality will be left behind.

"The Government is working towards a long-term vision of building 510 sports infrastructure projects by 2028, with the aim of producing athletes capable of representing the country at the 2032 Olympics," he said after laying the foundation stone for a new mini stadium here in North Garo Hills district.

The mini stadium, sanctioned at a cost of Rs. 3.44 crore under the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, is aimed at fulfilling a long-standing demand of local youth for a dedic...
