Shillong, June 26 -- Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Friday reaffirmed the state government's unwavering commitment to building a healthier, drug-free and more compassionate Meghalaya, marking the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking with calls for stronger enforcement and public participation.
Speaking at a programme, Sangma expressed his gratitude to all stakeholders involved in the fight against drug abuse and illicit trafficking.
"This day unites governments, communities, educators, faith based organisations in a shared mission to eradicate drug misuse, end illicit drug trafficking and replace the stigma of addiction with compassion and empathy," he said.
