Shillong, Feb. 25 -- Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Wednesday cautioned that any attempt to change the existing state job reservation policy of 1972 would invite judicial scrutiny, adversely impacting the implementation of the long-held reservation policy of the hill state.

Replying to a Zero-Hour Notice and Short Duration Discussion on the report of the Expert Committee on Reservation Policy, Sangma said that the panel noted that the overwhelming majority of stakeholders favoured retaining the existing structure and warned that any substantial modification could expose the policy to judicial review.
