Shillong, July 11 -- Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Saturday reviewed the monsoon situation across the state with Deputy Commissioners and directed district administrations to remain on high alert as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast continued heavy rainfall until around July 15.
Chairing a review meeting with Deputy Commissioners via video conference, the Chief Minister assessed the impact of the ongoing spell of rain, which has affected 32 villages across several districts, particularly in Garo Hills and parts of Khasi Hills, since the first week of July.
