Shillong, July 22 -- Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has sought the Centre's support for a set of civil aviation projects designed to improve air connectivity across Meghalaya, an official said on Wednesday.
The aviation projects include expanding Shillong Airport, reviving Baljek Airport in Garo Hills, and developing a water aerodrome at Umiam Lake.
During a meeting with Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu in New Delhi on Tuesday, Sangma informed him that the state government has completed its commitments on the proposed projects and now awaits approvals from the Civil Aviation Ministry to proceed.
