Sohiong, July 18 -- In a rare departure from government protocol, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma invited Pyntngenlang Nongrang, a retired soldier of the Indian Army, to inaugurate the newly established CM CONNECT Centre at Sohiong village in East Khasi Hills district on Saturday, emphasising that public facilities should be dedicated by the people they are meant to serve.
Nongrang of Nongur village, who served for 17 years in the 1st Assam Regiment of the Indian Army, inaugurated the CM CONNECT Centre at the Sohiong Community and Rural Development (C&RD) Block in the presence of C&RD Minister Sosthenes Sohtun, besides officials from the district administration.
