Shillong, June 9 -- Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Tuesday flagged off a fleet of five electric buses under the PM e-Bus Sewa scheme to provide citizens with cleaner, greener, and more efficient public transportation services.
The launch marks a major step towards promoting sustainable urban mobility, reducing carbon emissions and strengthening public transport infrastructure in Shillong.
Reiterating the state government's commitment to promoting electric mobility, the Chief Minister informed that the policy, providing exemptions on registration fees and road taxes for electric vehicles, is being renewed following the completion of its initial three-year term.
