Shillong, April 16 -- Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has reiterated his appeal to members of the Green Tech Foundation (GTF), an environmental group, to withdraw their indefinite hunger strike, which entered its eighth day on Thursday.

Three members of the GTF have been on an indefinite hunger strike since April 9 to pressure the State government to revoke the MoU signed with Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) for development of a luxury Taj Umiam Resort & Spa across 66 acres, which includes 36.10 acres of Lumpongdeng Island in Umiam Lake and 29.64 acres of the existing Orchid Lake Resort area.
