Shillong, July 27 -- The Meghalaya Cabinet on Monday gave its nod to the State Electric Vehicle (EV) Policy 2026, towards promoting clean and sustainable mobility in the State.

Public Health Engineering Minister Marcuise N Marak said the government will provide an incentive of Rs. 25,000 to every individual purchasing an electric vehicle, along with a complete waiver of vehicle registration fees.

He said the policy the government's commitment to building a greener Meghalaya by reducing emissions, encouraging clean transportation, and making electric mobility more accessible and affordable for our citizens.
