Shillong, April 25 -- The Voice of the People's Party (VPP) women's wing has petitioned the Meghalaya State Women's Commission (MSWC), seeking legal action against online advertisements allegedly linked to prostitution.
In a letter submitted to MSWC Chairperson Iamonlang Syiem, VPP Women's Wing President Phileta Syiem and Secretary Bahunlang Tron raised serious concerns over the rise of online advertisements that appear to facilitate prostitution in the state.
"Reports of such content circulating on various platforms have created serious apprehension regarding the safety, dignity, and welfare of women and girls in the State," they said.
