Resubelpara, April 27 -- Meghalaya Police has foiled an alleged abduction attempt and rescued a local businessman within half an hour of the crime being reported and arrested three persons in this connection, police said in a statement today.
The incident occurred on April 25 when Bajengdoba Police Station received inputs from residents in the Bolsong area about unidentified individuals abducting a businessman in a silver car bearing a registration number ML-08-K-5869.
Acting on the information, police set up a checkpoint at Mansinggre village and intercepted the vehicle, along with the victim's motorcycle, which was being ridden by one of the accused.
