Shillong, Oct. 18 -- Residents of Nongspung A village in Meghalaya's Ri Bhoi district today urged Chief Minister Conrad Sangma to step in and speed up construction of a new school building promised during his visit on May 22, 2025, while objecting to the design proposed for it.
In a formal complaint submitted to the Chief Minister, the villagers said Sangma had assured them of a new building under the Chief Minister's Special Development Fund (CMSDF) in the presence of villagers, the local MLA and the Ri Bhoi Deputy Commissioner.
Sangma had also signed a memorandum submitted by the village headman and handed it to Education Department officials for action.
