Shillong, May 7 -- Noted academician and Khasi Authors' Society (KAS) President. Dr. D.R.L. Nonglait has formally accepted the National People's Party's (NPP) offer to contest the upcoming Shillong Lok Sabha by-election on the party ticket.
In a letter addressed to the NPP's president and working president on May 6, Nonglait expressed gratitude to the NPP leadership for placing its trust in him and giving him the opportunity to represent the party in the bypoll.
Nonglait said he had accepted the proposal after "careful consideration" and pledged to uphold the party's principles, vision, and collective decisions.
