Ampati, June 14 -- Panic gripped Joyfur village in Meghalaya's South West Garo Hills district when a wild elephant went on a rampage.
However, no one was injured in the incident, an official said on Sunday.
The incident occurred around 11 PM on Saturday night, when the elephant entered the premises of Ketaki Hajong at Joyfar village under Betasing Community and Rural Development Block.
According to official reports, the wild elephant severely damaged the family's kitchen, household utensils and an attached storeroom.
"The affected household consists of six members, including two adults and four children. No injuries were reported, and all family members escaped unharmed," the official said.
