Lucknow, July 25 -- Bahujan Samaj Party National President Mayawati has welcomed the resignation of union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, adding that it should have been done earlier.
"Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation today in response to the protests by the country's students and youth is appropriate, and it would have been better had it been made earlier. Furthermore, our party also expects the central government to take strict action against the policemen who brutally attacked with batons the unarmed boys and girls peacefully protesting at Jantar Mantar, resulting in a large number of serious injuries," she said here in a statement on Saturday.
